I had the privilege of meeting Sierra and Martin for the first time over coffee earlier this year. As they shared the stories of how they met, how Martin proposed and what their plans were for the future, I could tell that this was a match made in heaven.
Their summer wedding was held at the most beautiful chapel in Middlesex, North Carolina. As I walked up the stairs and through the doors of this beautifully historic church, I was captivated by the delicate flowers and elegant twinkling lights sprinkled everywhere. It was absolutely lovely.
Sierra told me prior to the wedding that she and Martin shared a special relationship with her family. One by one as everyone arrived to begin getting ready, I could instantly see what she had described. There was an undeniable closeness present among everyone.
The bride and her father shared a first look before the ceremony and I could barely keep from crying as I photographed his reaction. He was beaming with pure joy as he opened his eyes and to see his daughter. Their family gathered as her father prayed a blessing over Sierra, Martin, their wedding day and their future together – a beautiful moment of peace and tenderness amidst the excitement of the day.
Soft music filled the air as the bridal party made their entrances into the chapel. Finally, it was the moment that this sweet couple had been waiting for! As the double doors in the back of the room opened and Martin saw his bride for the first time, he cried the sweetest tears I have ever seen a groom cry, as Sierra made her way down the aisle.
After their beautiful ceremony, which included exchanging vows that they had written for one another, the couple were officially pronounced husband and wife and the celebration continued! As you can imagine, July in North Carolina is quite hot but this stellar couple, their wedding party and family were PROS at taking the “official” photos after and soon everyone was enjoying their dinner and the dance floor before we knew it!
