On today’s blog I’m thrilled to recount the magic from Janelle and Caleb’s stunning winter wedding at The Maxwell. The enchanting evening of December 29th was perfect with hues of black, white, and gold, filling their wedding day with with timeless elegance. Janelle, the radiant bride, exuded a glow that lit up every room she entered!
From the moment I connected with Janelle and Caleb, I just knew that we would have the best time working together. Janelle’s fun personality and her amazing attention to making the littlest details of their day special and unique made the planning process so much fun! She shared with me early on that their families were everything to them and that was so evident throughout the countless special moments shared.
Before the ceremony, a poignant highlight unfolded as the bridal parties gathered to offer heartfelt prayers over Janelle and Caleb. It was a sacred moment to capture.
The portraits captured just after the first look are nothing short of magical. Because the sun sets so early in December, Janelle and I planned to ensure we had plenty of time before the ceremony to capture beautiful portraits outside in natural light. This style has always been a signature of my work. Since the couple had just shared their first look immediately before their portrait time, the excitement and joy were SO real for these photos. I am completely obsessed with how they turned out. Did I mention how stunning this couple is?! They were (and still are) a literal model couple!
One element Janelle expressed was important for her and Caleb was incorporating their faith into the wedding day. At the center of the altar was a beautiful wooden cross laced with a stunning floral arrangement by Faux Real Flowers. It was the perfect addition to their ceremony space.
Undoubtedly, the highlight of the day unfolded during Janelle’s father’s speech. Unveiling a surprise at the close of his speech, he read Numbers 6:24-26 over the couple at the reception. Naturally, the entire room slowly became silent as he not only read but prayed these words over them, “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.” Eventually, by the end of the prayer, all four parents had surrounded the bride and groom praying this precious blessing over them. I’ve never seen a family do anything like that at a wedding. It is sincerely a moment I will remember forever.
Janelle and Caleb – to say that I’ve been looking forward to capturing your wedding day would be the understatement of 2023! I can’t express enough what an absolute joy to be by your side on your wedding day was, and I hope that you enjoy reliving every special moment in your photos forever. Wishing you two a lifetime of happiness together!
