Just when I think my couples cannot get any sweeter, I meet people like Heather and Josh who remind me all over again why I absolutely love being a wedding photographer.
I met Heather in 2022 when I had the opportunity to take professional headshots for the office where she works. Although our interaction was brief on that day, I remember her kind and bubbly personality. Fast forward to when she reached out to me over Instagram a few months later – I immediately remembered who she was and was honored that she would think of me as she was planning her February wedding in Raleigh.
As Heather began to share the story with me of how she and Josh met, I was in awe of how this sweet couple’s journey had developed. High school classmates who reconnected almost 15 years later and grew a beautiful relationship over long distance – each of them driving four hours one way (eight hours round trip!) in one day to sneak in a date! She shared with me that they were committed to trusting God with every aspect of their story and that with time doors were open for Josh to move down to the Raleigh area so they could continue planning for a beautiful life together.
On the morning of their wedding, I remember being in awe of how calm and cool Heather was. I feel so fortunate that all the brides who I work with are amazing, but Heather girl…you took it to a new level! 😉 She allowed us to build in time during the day for lots of detail shots which, if you know me, was music to my ears because I just love capturing details! Because she and Josh decided to share a fist look before the ceremony, we were also able to capture almost 30 minutes of bride and groom portraits while the sun was still perfectly bright which ended up being some of our absolute favorite from the day. Not once did she, Josh or their families complain about how cold it was outside (and it was COLD) and WOW did their commitment pay off – the photos from their portrait time outside are STUNNING. Their intimate ceremony was the perfect way to celebrate their love for one another as they continue pursuing all that God has planned for their lives.
To Heather, Josh, and your families…thank you from the bottom of my heart for the privilege of capturing your wedding day. I hope you enjoy this small preview of your day and look back on your wedding album for decades to come with joy-filled memories.
