Recently I had the opportunity to photography the most beautiful and intimate wedding at the WRAL Azalea Gardens for the sweetest couple and family. It was a bit chilly on the day of their early March wedding, but the sun was shining brightly, and we were so grateful for that because the lighting for their ceremony and portraits was stunning. Â
I met Anabela last summer because our boys are about the same age, and they would find themselves playing together outside often. We spent many summer afternoons at the pool, chatting while the kids played, and I so enjoyed learning more about their family including the stories about how she and her family had moved to the US from Portugal when she was younger. (One of the elements that Anabela incorporated into her bridal details was a hand-knitted textile…just like the ones her grandmother use to make when she was younger).
When Anabela contacted me to ask if I had availability to photograph their wedding ceremony I was honored and literally could not wait to capture their special day. She and Henry knew that they wanted their wedding date to be March 11th because it’s the anniversary of the date when they first met, but she also wanted to be sure that whatever location they selected looked as green as possible…which is not always the easiest task when looking outdoors in late winter on the east coast.
We scoped out not one, not two, but three possible locations for their wedding ceremony. Finding the WRAL Azalea Gardens felt like hitting the jackpot not only because the property is gorgeous, but they had just planted their spring tulips which were simply beautiful! Reverend Kayelily led Anabela and Henry through a beautiful ceremony and exchange of vows while their two boys bore witness to the beautiful union.
Anabela and Henry – what a beautiful story of commitment and faith you all share, and what a beautiful legacy you are sharing with your boys to have them bear witness to your love for one another. Thank you for the immense privilege of capturing your wedding day…I hope you love every single image as much as I do!
